ABOUT SWIFT DISTELLERY

From Scotland's discipline to Texas's defiance.

We didn't set out to make just another whisky. We set out to make your whisky — the kind you crave when friends come over or when you're home alone playing music too loud to care.

Swift Distillery was founded by Nick and Amanda Swift, the husband-and-wife duo who traded comfort for copper stills and a dream that smelled like toasted malt and oak.

We start with 100% row two barley, double-distill it in handmade copper pot stills, and finish it in world-class wine casks. Each sip you take is slow, deliberate, and personal.

Because whisky, to us, isn't a brand. It's an understanding — from our stills to your lips, we're here to make life enjoyable.

You don't sip Swift because it's rare. You sip it because it's actually there for you.

A whisky that takes your breath from one sip to another. Proof that tradition and mischief can share the same glass.

FAQ SWIFT DISTELLERY

Frequently Asked Questions About Swift Single Malt

What is a single malt whiskey?

Single malt whiskey is made from 100% malted barley and produced at a single distillery. At Swift Distillery, every bottle begins with Scottish two-row malted barley and is crafted from grain to glass in Texas.

What makes Swift Single Malt different from bourbon?

While bourbon is typically made from corn and aged in new charred oak barrels, Swift Single Malt is made from 100% malted barley and finished in carefully selected wine casks. This creates a smoother, fruit-forward whiskey with layers of vanilla, caramel, fruit, and spice.

Is Swift Single Malt made in Texas?

Yes. Swift Single Malt is handcrafted in Texas using traditional whiskey-making techniques inspired by Scotland. Every step of production is carefully managed to create a whiskey that balances Old World craftsmanship with Texas character.

What grains are used to make Swift Single Malt?

Swift Single Malt is made from 100% Scottish two-row malted barley. Using a single grain allows the natural character of the malt to shine through while creating a smooth and complex whiskey.

How is Swift Single Malt aged?

Swift Single Malt is first matured in bourbon barrels and then finished in select wine casks. This finishing process adds additional layers of flavor, aroma, and complexity to the whiskey.

What does wine cask finishing do to whiskey?

Wine cask finishing allows whiskey to absorb unique characteristics from the cask’s previous contents. Depending on the finish, you may discover notes of fruit, honey, caramel, vanilla, chocolate, floral aromas, and spice.

What flavors can I expect from Swift Single Malt?

Flavor profiles vary by release, but common tasting notes include vanilla, honey, caramel, citrus, toasted oak, stone fruit, floral notes, chocolate, and gentle spice. Swift is known for creating approachable, balanced single malts that are enjoyable for both newcomers and experienced whiskey drinkers.

Should single malt whiskey be served neat?

There is no wrong way to enjoy whiskey. Swift believes great whiskey should be approachable and enjoyable whether served neat, on the rocks, with a splash of water, or in a cocktail.

Is Swift Single Malt good for cocktails?

Absolutely. While many people enjoy it neat, Swift Single Malt also works exceptionally well in classic whiskey cocktails, highballs, and modern craft drinks thanks to its smooth and versatile flavor profile.

What is the difference between the Oloroso Finish and Sauternes Finish?

The Oloroso Finish offers notes of toasted vanilla, chocolate, rose, and ripe peach. The Sauternes Finish showcases flavors of lemon curd, honeysuckle, buttery caramel, and spiced vanilla. Each expression highlights how different finishing casks can shape the whiskey’s character.

Is Swift Single Malt award-winning?

Swift Single Malt has earned recognition from respected spirits reviewers and publications for its craftsmanship, quality, and unique approach to American single malt whiskey.
